This weekend after much discussion, thought & prayer, Alan & I decided to homeschool Tyler & Mason through Jr. High & Highschool. I don't really know what kind of homeschool. Knowing me I would say loosely structured. I could sure use any advice or encouragement you lovely homeschool moms might have. I'm a little nervous, but I am very happy with the choice. The boys have been lobbying for this for a couple of years. The little kids will continue on in public school through elementary. Or until I change my mind.
We live a very spontaneous life. It would be so nice to just up and run to Brewster or Eugene or Oklahoma for a week or two without having to notify the government. I know that Alan really needs Tylers help with the business this fall & winter, and Tyler needs to learn all he can from his dad. Mason is a sweet & gentle soul and school was destroying him. I think my biggest fear was losing my time to myself. But I will have plenty of that when they are grown!!
I was happy to hear that Rusty & Dennis went to pray for my mom this morning. She did not do well yesterday with the flying and her legs had began to swell. I am not out there so if any of you sisters see her and feel that there is something I should be told or whatever please, please send me an email, I check it frequently. Beth is going to try to keep me updated. At this point it is just so hard to know what to do. A sister from GJT called me this morning and said that yesterday in church the Lord put it in her mind to take me to see my mom. I really didn't know what to say to that as we had just been to Oklahoma and my mom is with Cindy & Connie now so I told her I thought mom was doing better, but we would pray about it and see how we felt later. Then I spoke with Beth & found out that mom wasn't as well as I had beleived. I trust this sister from GJT completely and I truly beleive that the Lord gave her that instruction, however, I don't know if it is for right now or for after mom gets back to OK. Please pray for me that I will know what to do. Thanks, JoAnn.

Making the decision to homeschool is a very big decision. I think its best, but why would I do it otherwise, right? lol I will try to make a post on what we do and how we do it very soon. I am swamped with Baby Bo and children, so bare with me.
Dennis and Rusty were happy to go pray for your mom. Den said she was in VERY good spirits when he saw her this morning. So that is good news, at least.
I will pray that the Lord will let you know what to do. Your mom seemed excited to go to the coast, Den said. I'm glad that she is able to see something that is obviously so awesome that only God could have made it. The ocean is one of those things that puts me in awe of God's mighty power everytime I see and hear it.
You have had a lot of decisions to make. But I am sure the Lord will lead you the right way. Home schooling is a big decision but so worth the rewards.
Making the decision to homeschool was hard for me also. But I am also sending the younger kids to public school, and just homeschooling the two older ones for now. I will be praying for you, concerning school and your mom.
I'm sure that you made a good decision :) I know, I hate not being able to go somewhere just because the kids are in school. Not so much a problem now (since we don't have much extra $$ to take very many trips) but later when we do, that may be a problem. I'm so glad that your mom got to go to Oregon to see the coast again. I'm sorry that the trip wasn't easy for her, but I hope she can relax by the beach and fully enjoy it.
What about a week or two around here? Good choice, I'm sure you will be blessed for it. I'm remembering your mom a lot.
I will pray that God will continue to grant you guidance. I am glad she has been able toenjoy her trip so far. We'll pray for her.
I have no experience with homeschooling older kids, but I am sure you will do fine.
What is it with the comment about turning 40. Just because you just saw me, you are scared huh? lol. I have to admit My noggin isn't quite up to par. Oh, well everyone will just have to have patience with us.
Well now I see what you were talking about on the phone the other day! Sounds great to homeschool the boys. I am so glad that my mom had the courage to take us all out. I love my homeschooling family memories.
Well I saw your mom at church yesterday. I was glad to see that she made it home safely.
Hey I am glad to see Brewster right up at the top, :) I don't have kids and home schooling is I am sure a big decision but I can speak for myself, I loved it I never spent a day in public school so I have nothing to compare it with but I think it gave me more opportunity to spend time with the sisters when mom went I usually did to.
I bet Tyler is really happy about that. When we were in OK he said that he needed to stay on the Honor Roll so he could be home schooled. That is really cool. We are going to see how well I'm at this Blogging thing. I'm not to sure how I will be. But we will see.
