Up & At 'em Bright & Early

I had a horrible headache last night. My body is still trying to recover from being thrashed about by a semi. I woke at about 4:30 this morning and after 30 minutes of tossing & turning I got up & dressed and went to work on the house. Started a load of wash. Cleaned the kitchen and walked for 30 minutes on my treadmill. Not wanting to waste this running start to my day I woke Emily & Alex up for school at 6:15. Their bus comes by at 7 :20 and I knew Em needed a shower, and Alex tends to be extra slow on Mondays. So after the usual Monday morning crisis they were dressed and shoed and ready to head out the door. About 7:30 Emily came back in and told me they must have missed the bus. Oh pish posh I say, she is probably just running a bit late today give her a few more minutes. So they waited. And waited and waited. Well gee they must have missed the bus. Emily says "Mom, did you know that today is Martin Luther King day?" WHAT?? Perhaps I should check the school website.

No School Today. My childern are overjoyed. I am slightly embarrassed.

That is so funny. I love it when that happens. At least you got everything done.

Thats funny. At least you got up because you couldn't sleep anymore, and mnot because you "had to" :)

I agree with Sis. Marisela! It would be really disappointing to get up because you had to, and then it turn out that you didn't have to! Did the kids' teachers tell them on Friday that they wouldn't be coming? Even if the parent should know, I would think they would tell the children, too. Just to make sure. There's a chance that you're not the only one, after all!

Don't you love it when that happens? I kept checking the mail on Monday, it didn't click that it was a holiday. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Sounds like something I would do. I've definately spent at least one holiday checking the mail all day. LOL
Hope and pray you get to feeling better.

LOL....what a bummer! However, at least you got a great start on your chores and exercise. Totally impressed by that!!! Your morning schedule sounds a lot like mine. Abram has to get up at 6:30am and catches the bus by 7:20am too. We have to drive him down the driveway since its a long walk all by his lonesome. I can't complain too much since the boys pitch in by driving him down the drive to catch it though. Im spoiled with having the teens....hehehe

when manthy moved to town everyone thought she was me....she went to the bakery down town for the first time and he gave her extra punches for her coffee, cause i had been in before and must not of gotten a card...another funny story, there was a kid in abes class that said hi to her, and was teasing and said what are you doing in here? are you not supposed to be at work?....she didnt know him so she didnt respond lol he probably thought wow petra sure is rude lol i was rolling when she told me, but they constantly mistake her for me, even if they see me everyday they do it.

And just think you could have enjoyed the day off too by sleeping in. We are so glad you are feeling as good as you are. What a blessing.
