Miss USA

I, as most of you know, am a fairly conservative person. My hubby is over the top conservative. A couple of days ago the Miss USA pagent was on television. We did not watch this as we/mostly I, are morally opposed to parading young women out and judging them based on their looks, and figures, for the most part. As if young women don't have enough self-esteem issues already.

However, the next day, Fox News was replaying a portion of the contest, The interview question, due to the fact that one of the judges was extremely biased due to his own lifestyle. He had asked the question of Miss California, "What is your OPINION of gay marriage in the United States, should all states follow the lead of Vermont and legalize it?"

To which she replied as for me & my house I am a Christian and do beleive that marriage is between a man & a woman only. Or something to that effect.

The moronic judge who asked the question gave her a ZERO out of ten. How is some openly gay internet celebrity blogger even given the opportunity to judge that contest. How sad that the extreme left of this country has taken over every area of the entertainment industry.

I for one was very proud of her and her answer. It did cost her the crown. She came in first runner up. And now I have an even lower opinion of Miss USA constests!

Thanks for letting me vent.

Clapping hands all around! Big cheers for her strength to proclaim what she knows is God's truth, not her own. She probably knew she was signing her crown away...

Oh wow....well I hope that millions of christians watched that and saw the bias that our society is showing towards christians and stand up for how wrong it is. It drives me CRAZY that we are supposed to show complete tolerance for a lifestyle that is biblically and morally wrong, but they don't have to show any tolerance for a biblical belief system that has literally been a part of mankind since the beginning of time, and then the media applauds them for their hypocrisy. I can't believe how far off track this country has gone. So frustrating! Good for that woman, we need more people willing to put their "crown" on the line (so to speak).

I haven't seen the interview, but I read about it in the newspaper. It amazes me we have few rights as Christians, yet if there is an unholy movement of any sort out there, the entertainment industry and media is all over it, showing support.

We won't have internet and probably won't have television when we move. I'm thinking this is a good thing.

We have seriouly considered getting rid of the Dish. But I would really miss FOX News. Nobody else is willing to report the stories that they do.

Wow! I also don't like the idea of judging somebody based on what they look like. I'm glad that woman was strong enough to stand for what she believes in. The only sad thing is that obviously she isn't going to make it if she was involved in that type of a contest. But that judge.... oh boy, this country already has soooo many problems. What especially makes me mad, is that like Sis. Trina said, we are expected to allow them to live the way they want, but we are judged/excluded because of our own beliefs. Perfectly disgusting.

Way to go Sis. I too am standing up and applading anyone who stands up for our rights to say what we believe to be the only truth. As the word of God says,"the word of God will stand, even when the whole world falls". I believe Miss California took the stand of Joshua. "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord". Thank you Jesus that we still have Christians who will put aside prestige and the honor of this world for stand for the Lord!

I agree with you all. What a disgusting thing to prevail in this land.

I am so proud of that girl for sticking up for what is right. I am getting so sick of it becoming more and more accepted with our society. I hate to see what this life is going to be like in another 10 years. They have made it to where if anyone does go against "their rights" they get in trouble. All I can say is "what about our (Christian) rights!?"

I find that sort of thing depressing. Makes me want to be an ostrich and stick my head in the sand. If I can't see it it doesn't exist! Haha
