Sarah Palin

Monday evening Alan & I and friends went to see Sarah Palin at GJT. There were about 16,000 people there. She is quite an amazing woman. She really brings home the conservative message of self-sufficiancy, lower taxes, and a strong national defense. We really enjoyed ourselves. In Colorado we have mail in voting and early voting. We voted mail in last week. I hope that people take advantage of their right to vote even if they don't agree with me. People have fought and died in wars to give us this opportunity.

My kids have got the flu. Except for Mason, but he is wishing he had the flu, as his dad has him outside cleaning the yard and mowing. Bummer. I'm supposed to take a crockpot full of chili to the school at 4. for the teachers appreication dinner. It isn't really a sit down dinner, more of an eat and run dinner they the get between conferences tonight. Poor teachers. At least we are feeding them. Alex & Emily's conferences are tonight. Should be an interesting night.

"Alex is easily distracted, and not very mature for his age."

"WHAT?? My son? Not very mature for 6?" Gee thanks for the heads-up.

Oh how I love teachers conferences.

Wow! That's very AWESOME! Did you get to meet her/shake her hand or anything? When president Bush Sr. was president (I think I was about 11), he came to Grand Junction, and Dad took me up to see him. I actually got close enough to his limo that him and Barbara waved at me, I was so excited!

Your imagined conversation (beginning of conversation, anyway) was great! Made me laugh.

I hope the conferences went well. Maybe it will be like when Mom had conferences when Bill was in first grade. The teacher said he was very quiet and well behaved. Mom doubted the teacher even knew who Bill was. He was certainly not quiet at 6.

I am laughing my head off about the conversation with the teacher! Oh boy! You gotta love those little boys! That's great you got to hear Sarah Palin talk! While I don't vote, my prayers are for God to have great mercy on our country and hopefully that will count some in this election! ;+)

We just went to parent teacher conferences for the first time in 7 years. Oh boy, was that fun. Andy had a few unacceptable grades, mostly from starting late, but in chemistry, he is the top student. When we went to talk to the chemistry teacher, he seemed confused at why we were there. I told him that I had come to conferences to hear the bad AND the good. So, he proceeded to give the rave reviews we expected.
